We are pleased to announce the extension of the solo exhibition of the famous American artist David Bowes “L’Enfant prodige”, which will be held until 6 April 2024.
For the occasion, the exhibition has been changed, integrating with a beautiful and significant screen realized by the artist in 1992, already exhibited on the occasion of the 50th edition of Artefiera Bologna 2024.
This exceptional screen is not only an independent work of art, but also appears in another work by Bowes also exhibited in the gallery, entitled “Kyoto”. In this work we can see in the foreground the figure of a Japanese woman, elegantly dressed in traditional clothing, holding the handle of a sword. Behind her is a richly decorated screen that plays a dual role: it serves both as a landscape backdrop for the subject and as a prominent artistic element within the work itself.
The exhibition, curated by Graziano Menolascina, provides the public with a fascinating immersion in Bowes’ art, who returns to Naples after several years and marks the beginning of the collaboration between the artist and the gallery.
David Bowes’ art is characterised by an astonishing fusion of shapes and colours, creating compositions of journeys into idyllic and sometimes surreal worlds marked by rich colour composition. These works transcend mere visual representation, transporting viewers on an intimate and introspective journey through the beauty and complexity of life.
On the 50th edition of Arte Fiera Bologna (from the 1st to 4th of February 2024) the appointment with the artist David Bowes was renewed with a stand completely dedicated to a series of his historical works dating back to the Lucio Amelio collection.
