Trallallà was born in Naples in 1968, where he lives and works. Being a self-taught artist, he does not follow a formal approach. Rather, his style is characterized by a rough, dirty and imperfect nature. Essential components of his creative process are randomness, errors and accidents. He is not looking for solutions or comfort. Working for himself, Trallallà is dedicating to his “obsessions”, which include busty women, an unconventional eroticism close to burlesque, tattooed and brazen mermaids, symbols of southern popular culture and other iconic elements such as religious processions, football cheering and tattoos. He is using an essential vocabulary of symbols, obsessively repeating and remixing it to create a variety of works, including street posters, silkscreen prints, metal sculptures, flags, inks on paper and photographs. It’s easy to meet people around with his works tattooed on their skin. Most of his works arise from collaborations with different artists and artisans, such as graphic designers, typographers, carpenters, tailors, blacksmiths and photographers.
