Giacomo Rizzo was born in Palermo September 29, 1977, where he lives and works.
Since 2006 he is professor of sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo.
He also worked as a sculptor and scenographer in various theaters in Italy and Europe such as Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Teatro Real in Genoa, Teatro Opera of Marseille (FR) and the Ente Autonomo Piccolo Teatro of Milan twinned with the I.N.D.A. of Syracuse, specially in the show “Prometheus Bound” (Aeschylus) directed by Luca Ronconi, with the realization of the colossal statue of 27 meters depicting Prometheus Bound.
He won and received awards such as The Symposium Art in Ice, Livigno (SO) 2004; he received by the Foundation Ignazio Buttitta and by the Department of Environmental and Cultural Heritage of Education of the Region of Sicily, the “ANTONINO May” Award for distinguished service in the panorama artistic culture. The honorary citizenship by the city of Palazzo Adriano (PA) 2009 was conferred. In 2009 the honorary citizenship by the city of Rome was conferred to him.
