The Andrea Ingenito Contemporary Art Gallery is pleased to announce URBANA, a unique group exhibition that brings together various Neapolitan artists, each of them presenting their personal visual narrative of the city. Through their work, they celebrate the vibrant dialogue between Naples’ artistic scene and the urban fabric that inspires its visual identity.
The exhibition, conceived by Andrea Ingenito and curated by Gabriele Perretta (with special thanks to Annalisa Ferraro), delves into the dynamics of Neapolitan visual art and its transformative role in regenerating spaces and concepts through a powerful visual language.
The works on display are not merely artistic expressions but procedural acts that leave an indelible mark on the urban landscape, revealing the vitality of a city in constant evolution. Through a diverse selection of artists (Eno, Enzo Cref, IABO, Kaf, Trallallà), the exhibition aims to showcase the richness and the diversity of Naples’ cultural scene, highlighting styles and perspectives that resonate with contemporary art.
“With their works, these young artists engage in constant participation and genre-sharing, fostering the regeneration and aesthetic reframing not only of the territory but also of conceptual practices, thanks to the strong sense of their signature style. The very title, URBANA, is a powerful tag: the matrix serves as both a starting point and a defining substance. In this context, urban action is not merely a form of visual expression but also an extensive gesture and a profound imprint on the territory. Aligned with the exhibition’s title, it is evident that the choice of blue—even in the spatial arrangement—evolves into a code of identification and hospitality for the URBANA artistic practice. This code interlaces with the root ‘NA,’ transforming the urban mark into a retrieval of metropolitan anthropological memory. Those who resonate with the call of URBANA—that of an ever-renewed Naples—are drawn into the thrilling journey of the artistic epiphanies of the present.” – Gabriele Perretta.
