NAPLES
After a period of forced closure due to the second wave of the pandemic crisis, the Galleria Andrea Ingenito Contemporary Art in Naples, starts with the exhibition entitled “dieciperdieci”, from Warhol to Abbamondi, a group exhibition dedicated to ten of the most representative artists for the Gallery itself. The exhibition, which will open shortly before the festivities, coincides with the initiative “SIMULTANEOUSLY”, which the gallery owner has promoted and which has seen the support of many Neapolitan Foundations and the Mother Museum. A project that involves most of the art galleries, cultural associations, foundations and non-profit spaces of the Campania region that have decided, together, to open simultaneously the doors of their exhibition venues. The intention is to give a strong signal of union and restart at a time as complex as this, dictated by the will to carry out projects forcibly suspended. “dieciperdieci” is the title of the collective exhibition proposed by the Galleria Ingenito to close this 2020, which provides a cross-section through ten works for ten artists who portray and recount contemporary art from the sixties to the present. The exhibition includes works with a heterogeneous style; from hand-watercolored flowers by Andy Warhol we move to a polychrome tapestry by Alighiero Boetti, followed by an evocative and feminine work by Giosetta Fioroni: the only woman in the group, which searches in contemporary icons the most intimate and melancholy aspect. From the endless flow of water games made by Mario Schifano you will come across confetti by Tano Festa, in a violin decomposed by Arman until you get to a paper of the ’60s by Franco Angeli and an oil on canvas by Renato Guttuso. To conclude this journey into art, which starts from the sixties and on which the gallery has always worked, and arrives to the present day, “dieciperdieci” presents with a work by Lello Masucci a fusion of color and matter, a plastic and homogeneous monochrome with Giuseppe Amadio and a more current and sentimentalist with Marco Abbamondi. The exhibition curated by Andrea Ingenito intends to pay tribute to these ten artists, on the one hand protagonists of the cultural tempers from the sixties and seventies, on the other hand, contemporary artists who explore forms of expression in different artistic disciplines and who differ from each other for their extremely personal and innovative declination.
