Giosetta Fioroni – Il Professore di desiderio.
Opere su carta dagli anni ‘90 ad oggi
After more than three years from the artist’s first solo exhibition in Andrea Ingenito’s exhibition spaces, Giosetta Fioroni returns to the Neapolitan venue with a series of colorful collages and works on paper belonging to her latest production.
From June 20 to September 21 “Giosetta Fioroni – Il Professore di desiderio. Opere su carta dagli anni ’90 ad oggi“presents a corpus of about twenty works that summarize what has been her path from those years to the present day. A versatile artist and a tireless experimenter, during her long career she has distinguished herself not only for her Argenti, which made her famous, but also for drawing, painting, theater, up to the manufacture of ceramics at the Gatti workshop in Faenza.
Since 2015, the neapolitan gallerist has treated all the notes of Giosetta Fioroni’s figurative poetry in different places and in different ways: starting with the Sixties papers through a successful exhibition that was held simultaneously with the exhibition of the “theater – cribs” at the MADRE Museum of Naples, up to the sculpture in summer 2016 in Capri, where seven “caves” were made for the occasion, one for each day of the week. These, inspired by the beauty of the island, also earned her a special honor from the local institutions. This time, Andrea Ingenito concentrates on her latest production, almost to complete a story.
The title of the exhibition is linked to the eponymous novel by Philip Roth, whose portrait is present in the exhibition, next to this other works refer directly to the literary world, such as “Paul Celan – Atemwende”, “La rosa di nessuno” and to the artist’s personal life “Lettera a Goffredo”.
A selection of works with a strong visual language that immerse the observer in an intimate universe, whose theme is passion, a feeling expressed by the artist through an exuberant palette and unusual and irreverent collages.
Who looks then becomes a spectator of a unique world, the result of the imagination of an eternally young soul that can live only in a great teacher of Italian art like Giosetta Fioroni.
For the occasion a catalog will be published (cost € 10.00) whose proceeds will be entirely donated to the Cariello Corbino Foundation which promotes the Ronin Club project – Karate School and Sports Chanbara of the Spanish Quarters of Naples. Despite the scarce resources at their disposal, they were able to achieve, through the talent and enthusiasm of some of his young students, international primates in the martial arts. For more info:
