Gallery AICA Andrea Ingenito contemporary art is pleased to announce you the solo of the artist Lello Masucci that will be inaugurated on March 21, 2018 at 6.30 p.m. in Via Privata Massimiano, Milan, and it will remain open until May, 5.
Lello Masucci, was born in 1948, is a contemporary artist with Neapolitan origins, from his first works he prefers to combine pictorial techniques with digital ones, working and experimenting with different artistic languages on several media support.
His experience started in 1970 with fundamental meetings for his training such as that with Julian Beck and Judith Malina from Living Theatre.
Since 1980 he has resumed with the painting research, especially with work on mixed media and big artwork. Rebel and restless spirit he done a lot of exhibitions in Europe, among which at “Il Milione” gallery in Milan, and the solo at Sylvia Franchi’s gallery in Rome with the introduction curated by Filiberto Menna. It follows solo in numerous galleries as that for the Musée de Saint Paul de Vance, introduced by Andre’ Verdet who in the past has curated artist as Picasso, Matisse, Chagall, and in this occasion defined Masucci: “ Grand peintre, le peintre napolitaine” . the event is organized by Civita ( artworks catalogue ELECTA edition).
After that he show for PAN – Palazzo delle arti di Napoli, with a series of works that decree the hybrid nature of his artistic production that he him self defines analogical and digital.
As Lello Masucci says, his canvas represent the pain of contemporary, of painting and artist.
The wounds that he paints on canvas express the intimate impulse of man that drives him to be such, despite among difficulties of our society. The painting becomes not only expression of this pain, but also hope and redemption.
With thirty years of distance from the last artist solo in Milan, held at the art gallery Borgogna – Schuber, Aica gallery presents an exhibition of more than thirty artworks. It’s the first solo in Milan where is showed the most important production of the artist on both his favorites supports canvas and paper. In particular way will show an important artwork “Graphite poetry” that decrees the transition moment among hybrid production ( digital and analogical ) and coming of painting.
The gallery promotes in exclusive the artist activity and last Christmas has showed his works on paper behind name as Fontana, Warhol, Schifano and Paladino, for the exhibition World on paper. Dialoghi su carta , held in our branch in Neaples.
The continuous research of the artist to develop a unique language, for his technique and his poetry, sustained by the Aica gallery work , allowed a purchase by the Madre Museum in Naples of the historical artwork “ Sacchi di notti napoletane” (1988), for his permanent collection.
The first catalogue curated by the Gallery will be presented during the inauguration.
