Three Human Views
29 January – 15 March 2014
The exhibition titled “3 Human Views” opens on January 29 at 19.00 in the new exhibition space of the AICA | Andrea Ingenito Contemporary Art in Milan. This exhibition is devoted to three talents that stand out on the contemporary art scene with a poetic making and disenchanted, playful and lucid, dream and concrete; three artists seemingly different but very focused on the investigation about human existence in which capture the most incredible and true aspects.
Davide Frisoni manifests a strong bond with the road: its colors, its lights and above all its shadows. From the dark and dense color table that he uses for the wet asphalt, to the smoky faces of truckers (the famous Truckers) for the first time in an public exhibition, and which have aroused great interest at the 2011 Venice Biennale.
Keen observer of the everyday life, the artist reveals the poetry of concrete and deep humanity of his characters portrayed in a striking black and white which emphasizes the eyes and wrinkles of those who every day face a harsh reality.
Federico Lombardo revolutionizes the genre of portraiture through different techniques: such as the delicate watercolor that depict soft bodies full of passion, or the digital painting; in this canvases you can see woman faces emerging from the black background and kidnap the viewer’s gaze with bewitching femininity.
The series of large oil on linen Wonderful Humanitas, exposed for the first time, has a “Caravaggio flavor” that bear witness to the strong link with tradition: naked bodies and impudent, fragile and vibrant meats, dance and compete in improbable stunts.
Luciano Sozio, aka Manovella, like a child plays with shapes and colors in an imaginary world inhabited by curious characters suspended in time and space; in his paintings are placed the genuineness and the thoughtlessness of a dreamer, but also the bitterness of those who would soar but remains anchored to the harsh laws of the everydaylife.
This unfulfilled desire is even more evident in the installation Air room intuition: light colored glass drops hanging in the air over immovable concrete feet.
Andrea Ingenito, curator of the exhibition, after a proven experience in Naples, made his debut in Milan with those who will be the young protagonists of the new season, marked by sophistication and strong expressiveness.
