Dalya Luttwak è nata nella Galilea settentrionale, Israele.
Formatasi all’Università Ebraica di Gerusalemme attualmente vive e lavora a Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA
Dal 2007 lavora a una serie di sculture in metallo di grandi dimensioni che rappresentano simbolicamente gli apparati radicali di varie piante.
Le sue sculture sono site-specific o site-responsive; a volte lavora dalle stesse radici, che scava dalla terra; altre volte fotografa, trae le radici dal vero come base per il suo lavoro. Cerca di svelare la bellezza nascosta delle radici, esplorando la relazione tra ciò che cresce sopra il suolo e le parti invisibili sottostanti.
Le sue opere rivelano ciò che la natura preferisce nascondere, il suo desiderio è scoprire le radici anche e soprattutto quando sono nascoste.
