The development of his work was analysed by Ivan Quaroni, who has associated him to members of Leipzig Schule: “ Progressive man, always in stylistic evolving, Enrico Minguzzi builds his subjects like a descriptive phenomenological process than he changes and deconstructs in order to obtain a greater formal mobility. Related to his technical, manual practice and sign intuition are pivotal elements. Minguzzi is an artist who creates his imagery through overlap of shadows, transparent and slim layers of matter, tracing a shape’s growth process suspended both plant explosion and exponential growth. Mixing, sometimes, geometrical shapes and abstraction, he investigates on mutation and metamorphosis process up to obtain a dynamic balance that delate every claim to distinguish between figurative and abstraction.
Artist between figurative and abstraction (his works so figurative born on color bases widely informal or abstract and never from a comparison with a real fact or from a photographic support), Minguzzi also has created pictures trough I-PAD, printed in limited edition on Fineart paper. According some critics, his works are associated to some sociological studies for his liquid and metamorphic style. Through a more careful look, we can see how in his best works, Minguzzi shows a knowledge of 19th century artist (especially Pre-reaffaelliti, such as John Everety Millais or William Hunter for their shadows and their sharpness, but there is also a link with Caspar David Friedrich) showing a sublime reality ( the high peaks, mountains rangers or piece of nature escape from contemporary human disaster) an enigmatic image, restless like in David Lynch of “A straight story”.
